We made it back into Cairo last night, on schedule, after a long travel day that began at 5am in Tanzania, took us into Kenya to fly from Nairobi to Cairo, with a stopover in Khartoum. For those who may have worried about us getting caught up in the raucous going on in Kenya as a result (or lack there of) of the recent elections, we had no trouble in our travels at all. The only evidence we endured of the tension going on there was that many businesses were closed, including the Carnivore restaurant. We had been salivating the entire trip, looking forward to eating there (eating many of the meats that we had been viewing in live form on our 5-day safari) before our flight out of Nairobi, but were disappointed to find out it was closed.
We're getting our pictures uploaded and organized, and should have a lot of them posted soon. On our challenging Tanzania trek, we both were able to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro as planned, along with Kerry's brother, her Dad, and 3 friends: Mike, Andy, and Paul. Thanks to all those who were praying for us during our travels!
